After the beginning of autumn, the high temperature weather in Xi'an still "tests" the high load operation of the power grid, and the peak summer work is still being carried out intensively. On August 30th, during the inspection process, the line inspectors of Changan Company discovered that the connection switch pile head between the Dasan Line and the Guo Line had broken. If there was a power outage to eliminate the deficiency, the affected area would be too large. In order to minimize the power outage area as much as possible and not affect the daily electricity consumption of most residents, the company has decided to eliminate defects through live working.
At noon on the day of work, the temperature in Chang'an area reached as high as 33 degrees Celsius. The staff of the company's live working group started working from 11 noon and sweated profusely, until the end of work at 2 pm. They stood in a one meter square live working truck bucket, exchanging wet work clothes for another "no power outage" in Chang'an power grid.
From pre shift meetings, safety briefings, setting up fences, to testing the insulation performance of safety tools, to live work, they concentrate their energy without any carelessness. The electrified workers, dressed in airtight insulation shawls, rose to a height of nearly 18 meters and controlled the 10000 volt high voltage with both hands, enduring both physical and psychological tests. "Drinking water" is often the first sentence they say when leaving the workplace. Due to the high difficulty and danger of the work, coupled with the stuffy and hot weather, and the thick and non breathable insulation shawl, the work clothes of the live line workers will be completely soaked by sweat during operation, resulting in water shortage. The live line workers of the company took turns to work, and after 3 hours of live fighting, the work was finally successfully completed.
